TÜV Hessen’s Automotive Test Center works in the areas of type testing, engine and emissions testing, CoP and development support, as well as in managing and supporting adherence to directives and approval procedures within the scope of type approvals using a management system tested according to DIN EN ISO 9001:2015 and DIN ISO EN 14001:2015 and that corresponds to the requirements of these standards.
TÜV Hessen Automotive has been accredited for certain testing areas by the DAkkS (German Accreditation Body) as a testing laboratory in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025.

TÜV Hessen Automotive has been designated as a technical service for almost all important testing procedures by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA). Furthermore, TÜV Hessen has been designated as a testing institute by the NTSEL (National Traffic Safety and Environment Laboratory) to conduct official testing in accordance with Japanese regulations (TRIAS).

TÜV Hessen Automotive has been granted approval by the German Federal Motor Transport Authority to conduct initial assessments (inspection of the QM systems of new vehicle manufacturers or license holders) and review tasks (CoP/Conformity of Production) on behalf of the German Federal Motor Transport Authority.
The Swiss Federal Office for the Environment has also certified TÜV Hessen to conduct certain inspections in accordance with Swiss Clean Air Act (particle filter systems, VERT).
