Heating oil tank inspection (systems operating with water-hazardous materials - VAwS)

TÜV Hessen inspects your heating oil tank (regardless whether this is an initial inspection, recurring inspection, decommissioning, underground or aboveground installation) on the grounds of the Water Resources Act (WHG) and the tank systems ordinance (ordinance for tank systems for water-hazardous materials, VAwS).

According to the amended systems ordinance (VAwS) from 05. February 2004, all existing level B aboveground heating oil tanks, i.e. heating oil systems between 1000 and 10.000 liters, must be inspected once by a certified expert. If these systems were erected in water protection areas, they have already been subject to inspection earlier.

Aboveground heating oil systems are primarily installed in basements. For the most part, these are compartment tank systems, composed of several vessels, or so-called basement welded tanks.
