Like all other TÜV companies, TÜV Hessen, in cooperation with the association of TÜV companies VdTÜV (Verband der Technischen Überwachungs-Vereine e.V.), is painstakingly concerned about preserving and reinforcing the protection of TÜV as a trademark.

Due to its registrations with the German Patent and Trademark Office (Deutsches Patent- und Markenamt, DPMA), the Office of Harmonization in the Internal Market (OHIM) as well as numerous foreign brand offices, TÜV is a trademark that enjoys protection almost worldwide. Therefore the trademark of TÜV is the distinguishing mark of the TÜV companies. It may only be used by a TÜV or a TÜV subsidiary.
